The outward signs of aging can often be seen initially in and around the eyes. Through the aging process the structural integrity of the eyelid skin and underlying support is lost and fat bulges outward. Downward displacement of this fat can also contribute to “bags” under the eyes. These changes generally begin in the third decade of life and result in wrinkling, decreased eye visibility (or hooding), and loss of vibrancy.
